Moving on from the highly recognisable G-Class to the new-generation of Mercedes-Benz SUVs, the GLC 250 d is up next. The long-hood short-deck treatment is more exaggerated than before and the rear of the E-Class sports LED taillights and dual exhaust outlets.
The new teaser video featured a silhouette that resembles the C and S Class body language design, that the German automakers are desperately trying to incorporate in their fleet of sedans. We will see more of it at the Detroit show. They allow the driver to control the entire infotainment system using finger swipes without having to take their hands off the steering wheel. The only transmission available at launch will be the 9G-Tronic automatic.

The new Mercedes-AMG E 63 will crown the 2016 E-Class line-up late this year, powered by a revised version of AMG’s twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 in two states of tune (standard and S).
The 2017 E-Class will be available with a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, as well as a E350e plug-in hybrid variant. It will also surely get the AMG treatment in due time.
